Day 149: Yesterday’s purple extravaganza

Today I present yesterday’s directive!

(Don’t worry, the glue dried clear!)

Day 28: Use traditional school supplies in a non-traditional way.

4 weeks in! 48 more to go! … Ooomph. That is still a lot… Can’t I just do them all over a couple of weekends and say I did a years worth of creating in a month…?!  Basically the same thing, right?

So for today’s challenge my traditional school supply of choice was good ole Elmer’s Glue. I smeared it across my palm, let it dry and then created (I have certainly let glue dry on my hand and then peel it off. I have never then taken it to this step)!

Stick Figure with a Wand. Dried glue.

Even though it’s just dried glue it is surprisingly a little bit gross to me. Haha. Something about the texture or process… not sure. But it won’t stop me from doing it again in the future. Though I will still be a little bit grossed out by it.

Day 6: Work with the first fruit or vegetable (any form) spotted.

This was a tough one. I spotted the lime juice in the plastic shaped lime bottle. I initially thought, YARN! I could whip up a crocheted lime or lime slice in no time. But it felt a little like a cop out and I wanna save those for the days I really need it! Then I thought, FELT! But sadly I did not have lime green felt, just dark green. What was a girl to do?! That was when I spied the tissue paper. Yippee! I *heart* tissue paper. So here is my painstaking (well the lime green wedges were the painstaking part) work with tissue paper…

“Limes” Tissue paper on decorative paper.

The dark splotches are from the lime juice I then squirted on the finished image. It said “work with” soooo I wanted to be sure to get that in there.  And now it not only smells like glue and paper, but a hint of lime, too!
